Who should visit Bodies Human?

Bodies Human is appropriate for visitors of all ages with an interest in science, anatomy, or simply curiosity about how our bodies work. The exhibition presents actual human specimens in a respectful, educational manner. Parents should use their discretion regarding young children, but the exhibition is designed to be appropriate for family viewing.

Is photography allowed in the exhibition?

Yes, photography for personal use is permitted throughout the exhibition. No flash photography, please, and photography for commercial purposes is prohibited without prior written permission.

How long does it take to go through the exhibition?

Most visitors spend between 60-90 minutes in the exhibition, though those with special interest in anatomy or medicine may wish to stay longer. The exhibition is self-guided, allowing you to move at your own pace.

Are there any live demonstrations or shows?

Bodies Human is a static exhibition without scheduled shows or demonstrations. However, our knowledgeable staff is available throughout the exhibition to answer questions and provide additional information about the specimens.

What is plastination?

Plastination is a preservation process invented by Dr. Gunther von Hagens in 1977. The process replaces bodily fluids with reactive polymers that harden, creating specimens that can be touched, studied, and displayed without decay. This revolutionary technique allows for an unprecedented view of human anatomy while preserving specimens for generations.

Where do the specimens come from?

All specimens in the Bodies Human exhibition originate from individuals who voluntarily donated their bodies to accredited science programs for the purpose of education and research. Bodies Human adheres to the highest ethical standards in specimen acquisition and display.

Is the exhibition accessible for those with disabilities?

Yes, Bodies Human is fully accessible for visitors with mobility challenges. The exhibition is located on one level with adequate space for wheelchair navigation. Service animals are welcome.

Are there special programs for healthcare professionals?

Yes, we offer specialized early-morning or after-hours access for healthcare groups and students. Please contact our education department at groups@thebodieshuman.com for more information.

Can I get a refund if I purchase tickets but cannot attend?

Tickets are non-refundable but can be exchanged for a different date and time, subject to availability. Exchanges must be requested at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit.

Is there a gift shop?

Yes, our exhibition concludes with a gift shop offering educational books, anatomical models, science kits, and unique Bodies Human merchandise to continue your learning experience at home.
